Partner Community Capital Announces $2.5 Million Investment and $100,000 Grant from First Citizens

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Partner Community Capital (PCAP), a mission-driven community development financial institution (CDFI) serving West Virginia, North Carolina, and communities throughout Appalachia, has announced a significant new investment and grant commitment from First Citizens Bank in support of PCAP’s ongoing efforts to expand access to capital and strengthen communities.

First Citizens recently completed a $2.5 million Equity Equivalent Investment (EQ2) with PCAP and has also approved a $100,000 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) grant to support the organization’s mission.

Together, the commitments represent a significant investment in PCAP’s ability to provide financing and resources to small businesses, nonprofits, community organizations, and other projects that contribute to economic opportunity and community revitalization across the region.

“Partnerships like this allow us to reach more entrepreneurs, organizations, and communities that need access to capital to grow and thrive,” said Marten Jenkins, President & CEO of Partner Community Capital. “We are grateful to First Citizens for recognizing the importance of investing in communities throughout Appalachia and for supporting PCAP’s mission through both capital and grant funding.”

The $2.5 million EQ2 investment will provide PCAP with additional flexible capital to support its lending activities and expand its ability to finance projects that may not be served by traditional financing alone. The $100,000 CRA grant will further support PCAP’s community development work and efforts to create economic opportunities in underserved communities.

“First Citizens Bank is committed to advancing economic opportunity and building long-term stability in the communities we serve,” said Damon Williams, Community Development Officer at First Citizens. “Strong communities are built through trusted partnerships and strategic investments. We’re proud to support PCAP in expanding access to capital, strengthening local economies and creating opportunities for communities across Appalachia.”
