It’s a beautiful sunny morning in Bryson City, North Carolina. Melissa Lambert, owner of Sky Ridge Yurts, has chosen the location of her business to offer guests an unparalleled experience amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Western North Carolina.
USA Today named Sky Ridge Yurts the #1 glamping spot in the United States in 2024.
“This exciting award not only recognizes the exceptional quality of accommodation and service provided by Sky Ridge Yurts but also highlights the profound impact of strategic investments like those facilitated by Partner Community Capital,” Lambert said.
Partner Community Capital (PCAP) played a pivotal role in Sky Ridge Yurts’ journey, providing an initial loan that fueled the expansion and development of this unique retreat. With PCAP’s loan, Lambert embarked on constructing additional facilities to meet the growing demand for upscale lodging in Bryson City, a small market driven by tourism.
Since its inception in 2011, Sky Ridge Yurts has steadily grown its footprint. Starting with just three units, Lambert’s vision and dedication led to the addition of two more yurts and a luxury cabin in 2016.
“The success of Sky Ridge Yurts highlights the potential of small businesses in rural areas to thrive and make significant contributions to the local economy,” said Spencer Blevins, Western North Carolina Business Lender. “Melissa’s entrepreneurial spirit and our ongoing partnership have resulted in a destination that not only attracts visitors but also celebrates the cultural richness of Bryson City,” he added.
Lambert returned to PCAP for a loan to support her most recent business venture: creating Long View Resorts, a luxury cabin destination.
As Sky Ridge Yurts continues to set the standard for luxury glamping experiences and Long View Resorts opens for business, Lambert’s entrepreneurial spirit and PCAP’s financial support stand as a testament to the power of collaboration in driving economic growth and fostering innovation in small communities like Bryson City.
“This partnership has not only transformed a vision into reality but also created a destination that celebrates the natural beauty and cultural richness of Western North Carolina,” Lambert said.
