Partner Community Capital Celebrates 25 Years of Impact at All-Staff Anniversary Retreat

Summary

“Twenty-five years is more than a celebration, it’s an opportunity to reflect on the real impact mission-driven capital can have in communities,” said Marten Jenkins, President & CEO of PCAP. “Our team’s dedication has powered this work and gathering together in Harpers Ferry allowed us to reconnect with our purpose and envision the future.”

Harpers Ferry, W.Va. — Partner Community Capital (PCAP) marked a major milestone, hosting an all-staff retreat at the Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry to celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary. The two-day gathering brought together staff from across the region to reflect on PCAP’s legacy since 2000, honor the partners and clients who have shaped its mission, and look ahead to the next 25 years of making the impossible possible.

The retreat provided time for team building, strategic planning, and storytelling centered on PCAP’s growth as a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). Since its founding, PCAP has delivered flexible financing and hands-on technical assistance to thousands of small businesses, helping entrepreneurs launch and scale ventures that strengthen local economies.

A highlight of the retreat was a site visit to River Riders, a PCAP client and outdoor adventure company located in Harpers Ferry. Staff toured the business, learned about River Riders’ continued growth, and heard firsthand how PCAP’s support has contributed to job creation, expanded tourism, and community vibrancy in the region.

The event also served as a launching point for PCAP’s next chapter, including plans to expand access to capital, strengthen partnerships, and unify its technical assistance offerings into a more streamlined and impactful program model.

“As we look to the next 25 years, we remain focused on investing in entrepreneurs and communities that deserve meaningful opportunities to grow and thrive,” Jenkins said.
