CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — On Friday, May 30, the Truist West Virginia Foundation presented a $5,000 check to Partner Community Capital (PCAP) in support of its Recreational Economies Initiative (REI), which helps outdoor-focused small businesses and rural communities thrive.
Steve Clevenger of Truist presented the check to Marten Jenkins, President and CEO of PCAP, at PCAP’s main office in Charles Town, West Virginia. Members of the PCAP team were also in attendance to celebrate the continued partnership between the two organizations.
“We’re grateful for the Truist West Virginia Foundation’s investment in our work,” said Jenkins. “This support helps us expand the impact of our REI program across the state, fostering economic opportunity through outdoor recreation and tourism.”
PCAP’s REI program provides support to outdoor-oriented small businesses in West Virginia and the broader Central Appalachian region. From gear outfitters to guides, lodging providers, and trail-town entrepreneurs, REI clients are building resilient local economies rooted in natural assets and sustainable tourism.
